SURAH AN-NAAS OF HOLY QURAN

An-Naas means “Mankind” and surah an-Naas consists of 6 verses. Surah Naas is of one of the most powerful protection pray. It is the 114th surah of the Qur’an (last surah and chapter of Holy Qur’an).

The last two surahs (al-Falaq and an-Naas) of Quran are for protection from various types of evils and the Satan.

BENEFITS OF SURAH AN-NAAS

“The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to seek refuge with Allah from the jinn and from the evil eye until the Mu’wadaitain (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) were revealed, and whey they were revealed He started to recite them and not anything else.” (Tirmidhi)

Hz. Abdullah bin Khabeeb (RA) who said: “We got out once on a rainy night and it was very dark and we looked for the Prophet (PBUH) to pray for us and then we found Him and He said ‘Did you pray?’ and I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ but I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ but again I didn’t say anything. Then He said, ‘Say’ So, I said, ‘What should I say?’ He said, ‘Qul Hoo wAllahu Ahad and Muwaidaitain when you enter the evening and when you wake up in the morning three times and it will protect you from everything.” (Tirmidhi)

English Translation of Surah An-Naas

Meaning of Surah an-Naas;

1: Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
2: The Sovereign of mankind.
3: The God of mankind,
4: From the evil of the retreating whisperer –
5: Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind –
6: From among the jinn and mankind.”
